HOLON, ISRAEL

At Jean-Paul Viguier in Paris, I functioned as an intermediary between the in-house 3D visualization team and English-speaking architects. While working on several international projects, my experience was anchored by a Master Plan proposed for the city of Holon, 10 Kilometers south of Tel-Aviv in Israel. My role was to provide design assistance and collaborated on rendered images for the project’s final proposal.

Tasked with developing a site east of the city center, the goal was to create an urban gesture that would gather mid-size residential, commercial, civic and public open space. The public open space became the main unifying gesture of the project- an undulating green space providing ramps to underground program elements and a dynamic park for residents. Mid-sized residential towers averaging 20 stories line the central green space. The civic component and landmark of the project was the 31-story office tower to the south. The tower provided a new destination for a relocated city hall. The tower’s massing mirrors the park’s undulating form.

The existing site sloped a few meters from east to west. Designed as a podium for the entire development, the change in grade was used as a design opportunity. Gently sloping circulation paths and stairways were designed to absorb the difference in elevation while providing access to intersecting streets and pathways.
